What is the Recommended Service Schedule for My Tucson?
8,000 Miles
At 8,000 miles, you’ll want to replace the engine oil and filter, and get a tire rotation. Just so you know, these two services are recommended roughly every six months, or 8,000 miles, so you’ll see them reappear at every interval of the guide! You’ll also want to inspect the following parts of your Tucson:
- Air Cleaner Filter
- Air Conditioning Compressor and Refrigerant
- Air Intake Hose
- Battery Condition
- Brake Lines, Fluid, Hoses and Connections
- Disc Brakes and Pads
- Suspension Mounting Bolts
- Vacuum Hose
24,000 Miles
At 24,000 miles, the services to complete are the same as the 8,000-mile interval! As we mentioned, you’ll want to repeat that same foundation of the oil change and tire rotation. You’ll also want to check in on all those parts we mentioned above in your inspection. However, there are some additional parts to look at, including the following:
- Driveshafts and Boots
- Exhaust Pipe and Muffler
- Fuel Lines, Fuel Hoses, and Connections
- Fuel Tank Air Filter
- Parking Brake
- Propeller Shaft
- Rear Differential and Transfer Case Oil
- Steering Gear Rack, Linkage and Boots
- Suspension Mounting Bolts
- Vacuum Hose
- Vapor Hose, Fuel Filler Cap and Fuel Tank
40,000 Miles
At 40,000 miles, it’s time to circle back to the same services you completed at the 8,000-mile appointment! That’s right, you can go ahead and address all those same aspects. You’ll notice that as the mileage goes on, certain services will need to be repeated more frequently than others.
64,000 Miles
Just as the 40,000-mile service was the same as the 8,000-mile service, the 64,000-mile service is a repeat of the 24,000-mile service! This appointment will include some of those extra services that were omitted in the 8,000-mile appointment.
96,000 Miles
At 96,000 miles, you’ll want to go ahead and perform another round of those same inspections at the 64,000-mile appointment! However, there’s one key difference. This time, you’ll want to add inspecting the spark plugs to the appointment. Spark plugs are long-lasting under normal driving conditions, but right around 96,000 miles, you’ll want to make sure they’re still working well.
