What are the Powertrain Options of the 2023 Hyundai Kona?
As we mentioned above, the 2023 Hyundai Kona features a lineup of four trim levels in its core range. These are the SE, SEL, N-Line, and Limited. The first two trims come standard with a potent 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This powertrain is capable of producing 147 horsepower, and 132 lb-ft of torque! Across the board, front-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive is also an available option. Speaking of options, there’s a second engine option available for the second two trims, the N-Line and Limited. This engine is the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder, which kicks out an impressive 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Instead of the CVT we saw on the first powertrain option, this engine pairs with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for a sportier driving experience.
What are the Design Features of the 2023 Hyundai Kona Lineup?
The overall design of the Hyundai Kona evokes a sporty feel, and it has a sleek, subcompact silhouette. Inside, the Kona seats up to five passengers across two rows of seats. The SE starts you out with features like standard 16-inch alloy wheels, and a height-adjustable driver’s seats. The SEL adds a handful of upgrades both inside and out, creating a more refined experience. For example, it has larger 17-inch wheels, as well as roof rails, and tinted rear windows. The SEL also has heated side mirrors, a keyless entry system, and a remote start system. The N-Line stands out from the rest of the lineup with its unique design features. It contains most of the available Convenience package, including features like heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and automatic climate control. It also features 18-inch wheels with a unique hubcap design, and a refined front grille with sleek character lines. Lastly, there’s the Limited trim, which includes features such as leather-trimmed seats, a sunroof, and automatic windshield wipers.
What Tech and Safety Features does the Kona Offer for 2023?
There are lots of tech features available throughout the 2023 Hyundai Kona lineup! Some standard features found on the SE include an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a six-speaker sound system. The infotainment system also offers standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity so you can stream your favorite music on the road. There’s also a standard suite of safety features, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The higher you climb up the list of trim levels, the more tech features you’ll find. For example, the SEL adds satellite radio, as well as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The N-Line features a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. Last but certainly not least, the Limited includes the available Tech Package, which includes a navigation system, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, and adaptive cruise control.
